ABOUT ME
My name is Micah Campbell, and I am the founder of Youthful Movement. My journey into personal training and coaching began over 10 years ago, fuelled by my passion for movement and physical capability. Despite being perceived as athletic, I disagreed, considering my athleticism limited to the context of football. I struggled with injuries, balance issues, discomfort sitting on the floor, and challenges in simple movements like touching the floor with straight legs. These limitations motivated me to seek out teachers and explore other physical disciplines such as Crossfit and Yoga, in the quest to improve my mobility and athleticism.
Whilst I gained a lot of knowledge during this time, my perspective shifted when I stumbled upon Ido Portal’s more generalist/holistic approach to movement and training. His philosophy resonated with me deeply as I became intrigued by the multitude of ways I could enhance my physical capabilities. This exploration led me to delve into practices such as gymnastics, locomotion (inspired by capoeira), juggling, spinal work, and much more, rather than confining myself to a single field or discipline. As a result, I cultivated (and am still learning) a comprehensive understanding of movement, which not only benefited me personally but also proved invaluable in guiding my clients toward their fitness and movement goals.
